Netflix signs overall TV deal with Wonder Woman’s Patty Jenkins

Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins has recently signed an overall deal with Netflix, according to Variety. The multi-year deal is worth $10 million and will see Jenkins develop and produce a batch of new shows exclusively for the streamer.

As well as helming Wonder Woman, which grossed $820 million worldwide on a budget of $149 million, and its upcoming sequel Wonder Woman 1984, Jenkins is known for directing and writing Academy Award-winning Aileen Wuornos biopic Monster. She has also directed episodes of Arrested Development, EntourageThe KillingI Am The Night and Betrayal.

In a statement, vice president of original content at Netflix Channing Dungey said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Patty Jenkins to Netflix. Her trailblazing work has pushed boundaries and she confidently tells stories that leave an unforgettable mark. We look forward to fostering her many ideas and helping them come to life.”

Jenkins said: “I’m so excited to embark on a great journey of making the new world of television with a company and group of people I admire as much as Ted, Cindy, Channing, Peter and the team at Netflix. I look forward to digging in to some great work together soon.”
